Childhood experiences gave me a special appreciation of nature and my surroundings. Collecting stones and shells from trips around the world kept many pleasant memories alive. Strolls along the beach in Jupiter, FL led me to create pieces of jewelry with these some of these keepsakes. Much too interesting to leave on a table, in a jar, or on a windowsill - they deserved a new life!
I started to learn different methods to create jewelry and a new path in my life's journey began...I am still "stepping out of the box". Exploring new medieums, cutting edge techniques, and learning as I grow is an important part of my life. I also enjoy teaching, helping students get to that "aha" moment, when they realize their potential and feel comfortable to explore beyond it. I learn so much from my students and my fellow artists.
Each piece of jewelry I create is unique and distinctive. Each design begins to reveal itself as I start my work. Beads of all kinds, plus other materials one might not consider using for jewelry are part of my artist's pallette.
